The Man of Steel was the modern Superman film Superman Returns was supposed to be. The fight with Zod and the origin retelling were a cinematic masterpiece that stayed true to one of America's oldest icons. One of the main reasons for this is the stunning performance by current Superman Henry Cavill, because if there was anybody on the planet better suited to look and act like the man of steel, it's him. When asked about the next time he's donning the role he says we should look at 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, not as a sequel, but as a separate film entirely. This news comes after director Zack Snyder released the trailer for the new Ben Affleck, Cavill-led film.

Cavill made this announcement while promoting the upcoming spy film he'll be starring in titled The Man from U.N.C.L.E.:

"I wouldn't call this a Superman sequel," Cavill told the MTV crew. "This is Batman versus Superman. It's a separate entity altogether. It's introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe, which was kicked off by Man of Steel."

Cavill then went on to say that the movie should instead be looked at as a Justice League sequel. It's main purpose will be to introduce Ben Affleck so fans can get a feel of the impending era of the Dark Knight simply known as the Batfleck Era.

Earlier this week fans got a taste of the leaked Batman v Superman and it more than exceeded the expectations and all it did was give us just a taste. The movie starts off where Man of Steel finished and the people of Earth aren't sure whether they should look at this being with infinite capabilities as a threat or a Christ-like figure.

Batman, the ever so unbiased detective, wants to see this for himself so broods over to Metropolis to study ways to take down Superman. In the end we'll probably see it's his way of saying hello.
