The release date for Star Trek 3, July 8, 2016, is a little over a year away, so why haven't we heard too much about the highly anticipated sci-fi blockbuster from director Justin Lin? According to TrekMovie.com, the third installment of the Bad Robot produced movie franchise is taking notes from its predecessor, Star Trek Into Darkness. The new rumored title for this 2016 movie is allegedly Star Trek Beyond, according to some rumors. According to Slash Film, this report does admit that it might be a little too early to confirm this title, but it was apparently registered with the Motion Picture Association of America. If this rumor is true, this new title could confirm some rumors of deep space exploration in the new film.

Meanwhile, star and co-writer of this upcoming film, Simon Pegg recently opened up about Star Trek 3. Speaking with DenOfGeek, the actor gave us some teasers for the script.
"For me it's now about the spirit of adventure and exploration and also, in modern terms, just how would that be for people, to be away for that amount of time and that kind of stuff," he said last month. "And it's a story about frontierism and adventure and optimism and fun, and that's where we want to take it, you know. Where no man has gone before - where no one has gone before, sensibly corrected for a slighter more enlightened generation"
