Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice does not hit theaters until 2016, but fans already know that Jason Momoa portrays Aquaman in the highly-anticipated film.

Some fans have not been happy with Momoa's casting or with the way the character's appearance has been altered. But at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, the actor revealed his source of inspiration for the part and then delivered a message to the haters.

"I've been hanging out with Geoff Johns and he's a beast. He reinvented the character with the New 52," said Momoa. "Like it or not, I'm the new f***ing Aquaman, buddy."

The trailer for the movie has been released this week. The reviews have been mixed, but check it out below and judge for yourself:

One thing that immediately jumps out is Ben Affleck's Batman voice. Rather than the gravely voice Christian Bale used in The Dark Knight series, Affleck's version uses a voice modulator. And, at least to us, it sounds pretty cool.

In related news, Jesse Eisenberg portrays Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The actor appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and talked about cutting his hair for the first time to play the iconic character.

"I've never been able to touch my scalp," he said. "Yes it's freezing. It's really strange. You know, it's the kind of thing where you feel like 'I can really damage myself.' You wanna wear a helmet. It's terrifying, it's terrifying."

Later on in the interview, Meyers talked about an old Batman v. Superman set photo that showed Eisenberg with a head covering. "You'd think there would be something more threatening than the floral arrangement [on my head]," the actor replied. "Everything is like shrouded in secrecy and the people are shrouded in bandannas. You know, Superman, Henry Cavill, in, like, baggy sweatpants."
