DICE's 'Mirror's Edge 2' Gets 2016 Release Date Says EA Games - Watch Gameplay Teaser

After about two years of wondering when DICE's Mirror's Edge 2 video game would hit shelves after its 2013 E3 Conference debut, a new 2015 conference call from EA Games has confirmed a release date for the highly anticipated title. This new report from the developers states that we can expect the new sequel in early 2016, with plenty of gameplay trailers and footage debuting this year! Find out more about this news below.

Just to sum up the history of Mirror's Edge 2 updates, a teaser video premiered at the 2013 E3 conference, with a development update from DICE and EA Games coming a year later at the 2014 event. Besides this, we haven't heard too much until now (via Polygon).

This week's EA conference call with investors revealed that this new title will hit shelves early 2016. You can check out the PDF version of the report from the studio right here! Basically, we should expect plenty from DICE and EA in 2015 regarding this highly anticipated release.

According to IGN, the developers have described this new title as "elegant, minimalistic, and has an attitude." We also learned that it apparently will reboot the franchise.

"The stake is in the ground," senior producer Sara Jansson said previously on the game's official website. "This new game will be a first-person action adventure starring Faith and I am here to tell you that we will stay true to Mirror's Edge. We are still in early stages of development and we don't want to rush anything. We want to make sure we create an experience that lives up to high expectations and fully takes advantage of the next generation of systems."
