In episode 21, With the truth behind The Reverse-Flash finally revealed, will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) be able to save his friends from the DC Comics, super villain, Gorilla Grodd, discover how "Grodd Lives?"

The precinct, Iris (Candice Patton), and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) are all looking for Eddie. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) is working on the camera setup when the alarms go off. All of a sudden, the Flash is hit with a sonic wave as well as the robber. Caitlin checks up Barry when iris shows up at S.T.A.R. Labs.

Cisco and Caitlin listen in on Barry and Iris' conversation. Barry tries to explain that Wells killed his mother, but Iris gets more confused knowing her father is involved. Eddie (Rick Cosnett) tries to get into Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh)' head but he's told to shut up. After giving her father the cold shoulder, Iris gets even madder when Joe reveals her mentor, Mason Bridges, was murdered.

The robbers are trying to steal the gold inside an ice cream truck. During Joe's shootout, the scarlet speedster knocks out the armored thief, who happens to General Wade Eiling (Clancy Brown).  At the prison, Eiling is being possessed by "Grodd," who speaks through his voice.

Cisco believes the particle accelerator explosion had an effect on their pet Gorilla. Wells rescued Grodd and is now using him as a distraction. Iris shows up again to get involved in the search for Grodd. Cisco reluctantly joins Cisco and Barry as they head into the sewers.

In the sewers, Cisco notices Grodd has been writing his name and drawings on the wall, as if he's getting smarter. Barry is hit by Grodd's psychic attack as Joe is suddenly kidnapped by the gorilla. After waking up, Grodd tries to force Joe to point his own gun at his head.

Barry needs some tech to protect his mind from Grodd but Wells isn't there anymore. Iris yells at Barry because he lied to her and he was supposed to be his best friend. Eddie discovers more about his future bloodline from Wells. History has forgotten about Eddie, who doesn't get the girl. Eddie knows Barry will marry Iris in the future; which means he won't be needing his engagement ring anytime soon.

Iris tells Barry she wants her father back before he runs back into the sewers. Cisco unleashes the gas inside the sewers, which distracts Grodd from Joe. The Flash runs at full speed to give Grodd his sonic boom punch but fails. Grodd throws the Flash through a wall and hits him with another psychic attack.

Barry focuses on Iris' voice as he dodges an incoming train. Grodd makes his jump and gets hit by another train. With Grodd gone, the Flash is able to bring Joe home.

With Grodd gone, Eiling is free from his will. Eiling will need Barry's help because Wells is both their enemy. Joe tells Iris that his love for her blinds him; she's capable of making her own decisions. She asks him to tell her the truth.

Barry visits Iris, telling her she was there every single day as the Flash. Iris though is still in love with Eddie but when Barry finds him, she doesn't know what happens next.

Grodd is alive and on the loose in the city. Eddie discovers Wells now has the key to his time machine to take him back home.
