David Letterman is wrapping up the Late Show after an astonishing 22 years on CBS. Of course, before that, the fame comedian was the host and creator of Late Night, which he was on from 1982-1992. This, of course, means that Letterman has been on television for over 30 years. And now, he's retiring, folks. And to commemorate the comic, we at MStars News thought to countdown the Top 10 things we'll miss about David Letterman once he leaves television.

10. The Monologue
Letterman's monologue has always been a wonderful mix of silly, truthful and hilarious. The wit involved at the top of the show made him a legend – of course, so did being David Letterman.

9. His Privacy
Despite his immense fame, Letterman's a pretty private guy nowadays, mainly keeping to himself and his family. Gotta love modesty, eh?

Or, maybe it's just shyness...

8. The Relationship with Paul Schaffer
The relationship between CBS Orchestra bandleader Paul Schaffer and David Letterman is that of legendary status. To see it end will undoubtedly be a sad, sad day.

7. The Top 10
It's hard enough to write one Top 10 list (okay, maybe not this one), so we can't imagine doing it day after day for years and years. But somehow, the Letterman crew was able to do so.

6. The Glasses
How he made those round glasses cool is beyond us. But alas, he did!

5. His Charm
Witty, sarcastic and sometimes construed as "mean," the reason Letterman has stayed comfortable at his Late Show spot is because of one thing: his charm. And, yeah, being funny. And, okay, his personality. Okay... there are a lot of reasons, but charm is definitely one of them!

4. The Card Toss
Who didn't laugh when Letterman tossed his card out the window only to hear the sound of shattering glass overhead?

3. The Sarcasm
Oh, Dave. We love your sarcasm.

2. That Honest Interview Style
Not many people would tell an interviewee that they think they're full of crap, but Letterman had no problem telling Bill O'Reilly that to his face ... a couple of times.

Let's take a look, because it's too good not to see.

And the No. 1 reason we'll miss David Letterman...

1. His Cantankerous Personality
Dave somehow made being crabby charming. How? Who the hell knows...

The Late Show with David Letterman airs its final episode this coming May 20. Stephen Colbert's reincarnation of the CBS series kicks off on Sept. 8.
