Most of us at some point in our lives will become anxious. It's a terrible feeling, one not easily pushed to the side. Simply "not worrying" about something doesn't help, because let's face it; you're not going to stop worrying, right? Well, what if we told you there were just 3 tips in avoiding that anxiety you hate so much?

Per a new piece in The Huffington Post via Health.com, it looks like there are certain traps that you can avoid, ones that will easily push you down a rabbit hole filled with nothing but ill-feelings, negative thoughts and stress.

So, how do we stop those traps from getting the best of us and succeed in being happier people? Well, let's try this:

1. Stop Hesitating
If you feel something is right, do it or say it. Hesitating makes us second-guess ourselves and often not go with our guts. According to the HuffPost report, anxious people often focus too much on the worst possible outcomes in any situation, which means that there are numerous possibilities. Focus on what you believe is right.

2. Quit Obsessing
People make mistakes. If you made one too, then that just means you're human. A lot of anxiety-prone people out there tend to overplay the mistake in their head time and time again as a way to make themselves remember what went down in a certain situation. Doing so, however, can create negative thoughts in your mind – largely about yourself.

So please, folks, stop obsessing over mistakes and detail. Of course, at the same time, don't just forget about them altogether. That's, well, bad.

3. Welcome Criticism
Believe it or not, we don't know everything. And that's okay! Being on the receiving end of constructive criticism makes you better at what you're doing – especially if its coming from someone more skilled, well-versed and experienced in whatever field you find yourself in. So before you act irrationally at the criticism, try and take a mental note about whatever came at you, think about it, and only then react.
