The Season 4 finale of Person of Interest aired on CBS. While we anxiously await to hear about Season 5, in the fallout from the two Artificial Intelligences, does Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) have a trick up his sleeve to actually "save" the dying Machine from Samaritan?

In our previous recap, Team Machine found themselves in two different wars. Reese and Elias (Enrico Colantoni) were both captured by rival ganster, Dominic (Winston Duke). While Shaw was being taken to a different location, Root (Amy Acker) and Finch found themselves trapped in Samaritan's base. In order to save them, the Machine gave up its location to Greer (Joh Nolan).

In our finale recap, Fusco arrived in the nick of time with the calvary, arresting Dominic and Elias. While Control (Camryn Manheim)'s men were looking to prevent the bombing of the Supreme Court, Root and Finch discovered the Machine was dying. In order to save the Machine, Finch had to download his program into a portable computer, inside a briefcase.

In the closing minutes, Root realized they had two clips left and their briefcase was running low on double AA batteries. As Samaritan's agents took out Elias and Dominic, Greer's men put a bag over Control's face and took her hostage. As Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine started playing, Finch walked out, with no gun, alongside Reese and Root as they started shooting Samaritan's agents.

In an interview with Yahoo TV, Emerson teases what he knows will happen in the fifth season, "Next season is more Finch-centric. I don't know what they mean by that. Partly, I'm terrified that I'll have more scenes and longer episodes. But I think maybe what they mean is that this business of Finch and his relationship to his creation will be played out in more detail."

Watch Out of Options here:

The Lost actor discusses the scene between Finch speaking to The Machine, who was asking forgiveness from its father, "It's so satisfying for Mr. Finch to finally have a conversation with his child. It's mighty stuff. It's a great notion the way they are slowly humanizing a purely electronic entity. It's kind of thrilling to consider."
