The Shade Room Shutdown by Instagram? Did Natalie Nunn's Cheating Scandal Have Influence?

Why was the infamous gossip entertainment site shut down on Monday? The world finally knows! According to Instagram, The Shade Room was removed by a mistake, not by Bad Girls Club star, Natalie Nunn's request!

According to Madame Noire, readers and media sites who use the gossip site as a reference to get the latest news on their favorite stars woke up in chaos Monday morning after trying to find where the site's Instagram page went. As The Shade Room tried to rebuild a new page, it was quickly added back to social media after Instagram revealed it was a mistake.

"We wrongly removed an account in this case and worked to fix the error as soon as we learned of it. We apologize for the mistake," Instagram said in a statement.

Rumor had it that Nunn paid a lot of money to shut the site down after they reported false news about her relationship with her husband. MStars News previously learned that The Shade Room claimed Nunn was in Miami cheating on her husband, Jacob Payne. Nunn, along with others, took screen-shots of the drama and believed that was why The Shade Room was shutdown.

It's unclear if the photos are accurate, but Nunn did slam the site for being deleted.

Generally, the social media entertainment site works because it has created a standard that celebrities are amenable to. The New York Times stated: "The Shade Room works because the stars tacitly approve: It is not uncommon for celebrities themselves to chime in and interact with Angie's (the creator) readers. Angie told me she prohibits her writers from making meanspirited comments about someone's looks, weight or family. In this way, she keeps her hands relatively clean-the commenters might get nasty, but typically the tone of the posts does not. So Angie's relationship to the stars remains symbiotic, not antagonistic."
