Based on the comic book from IDW Publishing, the work of creator Alan Robert is brought to life in Killogy: The Animated Series. In the teaser, Frank Vincent (Sopranos), Marky Ramone (The Ramones), Brea Grant (Heroes), and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein (The Misfits) lend their likenesses and voices as they tackle the zombie apocalypse.

As we previously mentioned, a trailer for Killogy: The Animated Series was released. Based on the comic, Sally Sno-Cones (Vincent), Summer Rhoades, (Grant) and Cole Edwards (Ramone) find themselves locked inside a prison cell. The three accused murderers need each other's help as the world outside is being ravaged by a zombie apocalypse. Joining the gang is Misfits horror-punk legend Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, who starred in the special Halloween edition of Killogy.

Check out our 5 thoughts on the Killogy: The Animated Series trailer here:

5) Is It Raining Blood?

Killogy: Animated from Alan Robert on Vimeo.

It's sure not purple rain, or even chubby rain, as Brooklyn has suddenly become an apocalyptic war zone. After being asleep for centuries, a once dormant voodoo curse has awakened and flooded the streets of New York in blood. If you're a horror movie fan, did you catch the nod to The Return of the Living Dead, with the zombie inside the canister? This critic thought it was hilarious that it's a decapitated head introducing itself the video.

2) This Ain't The Walking Dead

Who knew being in a zombie apocalypse could be so weird and so much fun? The teaser captures the horror/comedy tone right away. Everybody's a tough guy, which is why the wisely humor works perfectly. I'm not crying my eyes out because Beth (Emily Kinney), or Hershel (Scott Wilson) is dead. I'm actually rooting for these zombies to bite somebody.

3) A Hero Reborn

Hey, that's Brea Grant from Heroes! She was Daphne Millbrook, the female scarlet speedster, back in the day. It's so awesome to see the Halloween II scream queen kicking butt again! Did she just stomp on that zombie's head with her foot!?!

2) The Dark Side of Animation

With all the f-bombs, the graphic violence, and cleavage going around, the slick animation brings the comic book to life, fulfilling the promise of a "wild ride," like Tessio tells you. What makes this comic book adaptation different from the Marvel movies and the CW superhero dramas is that the creator, Alan Robert, is involved in the project. The Life of Agony bassist not only wrote the screenplay, he also composed the music.

1) Goodfellas Meets Evil Dead

My favorite part of the teaser is when Sally (Vincent) takes out his gun and starts shooting at the flying heads. Someone really loves the weird angles from the Evil Dead movies because they put the camera inside the mouth of a zombie. I can honestly say I have never seen someone fight the undead with his bare fists.

Though no release date has been announced for the animated series, the Killogy comic book series is available in stores now.

Readers, what do you think of the animated teaser?
