The most glorious boxing match of May 2015 does not have Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather as participants. In a bizarre twist that life can only deliver a few times a century, May 2015 will go down as the month former presidential candidate Mitt Romney and boxing legend Evander Holyfield went toe to toe inside of a boxing ring.

Romney, who was in surprisingly better shape than one would imagine a Mormon male who fluctuates between presidential bids would be, strolled down to the ring to Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive."

Granted, the hits between the ropes were as WWE-like as last Monday's Raw, TMZ claimed it was infinitely more entertaining than Mayweather/Pacquiao. If you check out the footage for yourself we think you'll see that the entertainment site is on to something.

In the second round, Holyfield went down with a fake punch and immediately after getting up, he chased Romney around the ring. At that point, Romney's corner threw out a white towel and bowed their boxer out of the fight in vintage presidential fashion.

All donations went to the Utah-based organization CharityVision and sponsors donated between $25,000 and $250,000. The men and women who put the fight together say they raised well over $1,000,000. It was a mix of entertainment and charitable contributions missing from other boxing events this month.

Romney went into the fight at age 68 and Holyfield is 52 years old. Were Romney much younger and these two actually squared off against each other, you have to think the white towel finish would have been just the same. Maybe the results would have been a bit bloodier.

If you want to check out the fight you can watch the video here.

Now that Romney is out of the way, what other politicians would you like Holyfield to take on next? Is a Bush Royal Rumble in order for the former champ?
