Considering Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carey Fisher), Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) and R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) are all returning from the original Star Wars trilogy movies in the 2015 J.J. Abrams project The Force Awakens, will we also see everyone's favorite smooth-talking smuggler, Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) as well? So far, we haven't seen the star in any of the teaser trailers of leaked set photos, but Empire Strikes Back and Episode VII writer Lawrence Kasdan has some news on this character to share with us this week. In a revealing interview with Vanity Fair, which has been the source of a number of rumors and spoilers being confirmed, Kasdan answered questions about Lando and whether or not we'll see his return in 2015.

"Right now, there's no Lando Calrissian in this movie," the screenwriter explained, according to Gamma Squad. "But Lando I don't think is finished in any way, shape, or form."

So it looks like we won't see Lando just yet, but the possibility of him showing up later is still up for discussion! What do you think of this news? Would you rather see Lando in this upcoming film or a later movie? Let us know in the comments section below!

Meanwhile, Kasdan's interview also touched on working with Abrams and how the film has come together.

"This new movie, first of all, it's turning out really great. J.J. directed it so beautifully, and it's so exhilarating and everything," he said, according to Slash Film. "It's a big movie. It's full of wonderful stuff, incident and character stuff and jokes and effects. One of the things that we always refocus on from the get-go was that it not be one of these very long, bloated blockbusters. A lot of very entertaining movies lately are too long. In the last 20 minutes, you think, why isn't this over? We didn't want to make a movie like that."
