The Season 7 series finale of the critically acclaimed Mad Men aired on AMC. After Don Draper (Jon Hamm) came up with the famous Coca-Cola commercial, will he decide to live a quite and uncomfortable life" after achieving the mainstream success he's always wanted?

In our previous recap, After being offered a new job offer, Peter (Vincent Kartheiser) wanted to reconcile with Trudy (Alison Brie) and be with his family again. What started as a trip on the stairs turned out to be a major health scare for Betty (January Jones). Dying from advanced lung cancer, Betty left a letter of instructions for Sally (Kiernan Shipka) to carry out.

In our finale recap, Roger (John Slattery) moved to Europe after marrying Megan's mother. A single mother, Joan (Christina Hendricks) started her own al-female business. Peggy (Elisabeth Moss) professed her love for Stan (Jay R. Ferguson) and kissed him. Sally will take care of her brothers with Henry after her mother is gone.

In the closing minutes, Don found himself at a retreat after Stephanie (Caity Lotz) abandoned him. Breaking down, Don wanted to come back for his dying ex-wife and and children, but he didn't want to return home empty-handed. In a state of medication, Don found himself inspired, coming up with a commercial that will make a mark in advertising history.

In an interview with New York Times, Hamm breaks down the ending and reveals what happens next for his character, "My take is that, the next day, he wakes up in this beautiful place, and has this serene moment of understanding, and realizes who he is. And who he is, is an advertising man. And so, this thing comes to him. There's a way to see it in a completely cynical way, and say, 'Wow, that's awful.' But I think that for Don, it represents some kind of understanding and comfort in this incredibly unquiet, uncomfortable life that he has led."

The 30 Rock actor continues, "There was a little bit of a crumb dropped earlier in the season when Ted says there are three women in every man's life, and Don says, 'You've been sitting on that for a while, huh?' There are, not coincidentally, three person to person phone calls that Don makes in this episode, to three women who are important to him for different reasons. You see the slow degeneration of his relationships with those women over the course of those phone calls."

As we previously mentioned, creator/showrunner Matthew Weiner spoke with A.M. Holmes (The L Word) at the New York Public Library, discussing the final episode.

We have 5 reasons why we're missing Mad Men after the series finale.
