AMC's 'Humans' Trailer: William Hurt, Gemma Chan Teaser Promo Debuts Before June Premiere!

AMC has released the teaser trailer to their upcoming sci-fi drama, Humans. Ahead of its June Premiere, get ready to meet William Hurt (Dark City), Gemma Chan (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit), and Katherine Parkinson (Doctor Who) in a parallel universe where robots walk among us.

As we previously mentioned, Humans had a bumpy ride before making its way into production. The AMC sci-fi drama was originally developed for Xbox Entertainment Studios. But due to that division of Xbox shutting down last year, with more than hundreds of employees being laid off, the project almost found its way to development hell. Luckily for everyone involved, AMC came along and picked up the show.

According to the plot synopsis from Slash Film:

"Humans is a bold new eight-part drama series from AMC, Channel 4 and Kudos, is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a 'Synth' - a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart. In the hope of transforming the way they live, one strained suburban family purchases a refurbished synth only to discover that sharing life with a machine has far-reaching and chilling consequences."

TV Line also mentions, William Hurt plays George Millican, a widower who becomes like a father to his obsolete synth Odi. Katherine Parkinson is a working wife /mother, who suspects her "pliant" Synth acting a little too human.

With the series finale of Mad Men, after seven seasons, AMC is gearing up their new television lineup. With Turn currently on the air with its second season, Halt and Catch Fire also returns for its sophomore season on May 31.
