'From Dusk Till Dawn' Season 2's Robert Rodriguez To Direct Live-Action 'Jonny Quest' Movie?

Before Season 2 of From Dusk Till Dawn premieres on the El Rey Network, creator/filmmaker Robert Rodriguez has reportedly been tapped to direct the live action version of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, Jonny Quest. Dr. Benton Quest, Roger "Race" Bannon, Hadji, Jonny, and Bandit are all back for one more extraordinary adventure.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros is interested in revamping boy hero Jonny Quest into a live-action family adventure franchise. The studio has reportedly tapped Rodriguez to direct the film. The Spy Kids director joins screenwriter Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean) to rewrite a Dan Mazeau draft that made the Black List. Dan Lin and Prime Universe's Adrian Askarieh are producing the project.

Created and designed by Doug Wildey, Jonny Quest accompanies his scientist father, their bodyguard Race Bannon and best pal on a series of global adventures.An evil conspiracy always follows that forces Jonny to work his way out of danger. A previous live-action version had been attempted, with Zac Efron (We Are Your Friends) as the title hero and Dwaye 'The Rock' Johnson as Bannon.

As we previously mentioned, Season 2 picks up with Santánico (Eiza González) and Richie (Holtz) living like Bonnie and Clyde, while Seth (Cotrona) and Kate ( (Madison Davenport) are scraping by south of the border. Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia) is protecting his wife and young daughter in a Houston suburb. As Carlos Madrigal (Wilmer Valderrama) and Scott (Brandon Soo-Hoo) emerge from ruins of the T*tty Twister, they will all come together to face off against an even bigger threat.

The first official image of Danny Trejo as The Regulator has been released. The Machete actor plays a gun-wielding agent of evil on a deadly errand.
