The brother and father of popular Mexican-American songstress and television personality Jenni Rivera confirm that the 43-year-old has died in a small plane crash in northern Mexico on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012. Authorities confirm that the remains of a Learjet transporting Rivera and six other individuals from Monterrey to Toluca, Mexico were found on Sunday morning amongst an "unrecognizable wreckage." There were no survivors.
Rivera was traveling with her publicist Arturo Rivera, her stylist Jorge Sanchez, her makeup artist Jacobo Llenares, and her attorney Mario Macias along with two pilots on the small, private aircraft that took off after a concert at Arena Monterrey on Saturday evening. Shortly after takeoff, the plane lost contact with air traffic controllers above the Mexico state of Nuevo León. Although Mexico authorities have yet to confirm the seven deaths, the remains of a small crashed aircraft were found amongst "unrecognizable wreckage" in the rugged territory of Nuevo León on Sunday, and Rivera's family in the U.S. believe the songstress' lifeless body is indeed among that wreckage.
Rivera's father Pedro recently told reporters outside of his L.A.-area home, "My son Lupillo told me that effectively it was Jenni's plane that crashed and that everyone on board died. I believe my daughter's body is unrecognizable."

Pedro Rivera insists that his son Lupillo would fly to Monterrey early Monday to identify his sister's presumed remains.
According to Transportation and Communications Minister Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, "everything points toward" the wreckage belonging to the plane carrying Rivera and six other passengers. Ruiz Esparza goes on to explain - "There is nothing recognizable, neither material nor human... [The impact was so powerful that the remains of the plane] are scattered over an area of 250 to 300 meters. It is almost unrecognizable."
No cause has yet to be given to the plane crash, but Mexico's Civil Aeronautics authority (DGAC) has "initiated investigations about the alleged fall of a plane owned by Starwood Management with tags N345MC, which took place this morning in the state of Nueva León."
A distorted California driver's license with Rivera's name and picture on it was allegedly found in the crash site debris near the town of Iturbide in Mexico's Sierra Madre Oriental.
Rivera, popularly known as the Diva of the Banda, is a Long Beach, CA native and the mother of five children. The Billboard Mexican Music Awards winner is also an avid actress and businesswoman, appearing in the hit reality shows "I Love Jenni," "Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis and Raq-C" and "Chiquis 'n Control" as well as the popular film "Filly Brown."
Following Rivera's concert in Monterrey on Saturday night, the singer gave a press conference where she talked about her recent divorce from former Major League Baseball pitcher, Esteban Loaiza:
"I can't get caught up in the negative because that destroys you. Perhaps trying to move away from my problems and focus on the positive is the best I can do. I am a woman like any other and ugly things happen to me like any other woman... The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I have gotten up."
Many individuals who knew Rivera in the music recording industry have expressed their sorrows and condolences over her unfortunate passing - pop star Paulina Rubio (who worked with Rivera on the hit Mexican show "The Voice of Mexico") tweeted the message: "My friend! Why? There is no consolation. God, please help me!"
Mexican songstress/actress Lucero also tweeted: "What terrible news! Rest in peace ... My deepest condolences for her family and friends."
