Season 3 of the sci-fi thriller Orphan Black continues on BBC America. In the upcoming Episode 8, as the truth behind the Project Castor Clones unravels, will Sarah Manning (Tatiana Maslany) be able to continue on with the mission knowing Helena (Maslany) is pregnant?

As we previously mentioned, Paul (Dylan Bruce) came back to rescue Sarah but found himself mortally wounded. Sacrificing himself, Paul helped Sarah escape and let himself get captured. Standing in front of Miller (Ari Millen) and Dr. Virginia Cody, Paul released the grenade and blew himself up.

In the recent recap by Wall Street Journal, the story moved away from Sarah while Cosima made a switch with Alison. With Cosima's health getting worse, she had no choice but to reveal her illness to Shay. It was the confrontation between mothers and daughters as Alison had her own encounter with her matriarch. Helena and Mrs. S almost came to blows before they had their own emotional release.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator/co-showrunner John Fawcett reveals Helena's mindset, "We really wanted Helena to deal with her feelings of betrayal. We just knew we had to do something to kind of still the waters to some degree, but also let Helena be real about the fact that she's dealing with these feelings of betrayal. She's sort of dealt with it with Sarah, and now, the real betrayer has walked in the door for her. And where is this all going?"

Fawcett discusses how there was another version of the scene between Helena and Mrs. S, "The bigger, goofier version of it was we were going to have people in a big circle, betting money...it was gonna be more like Fight Club, right? But then we were talking to Maria about it and she was like  'I can't punch the girl! She's pregnant! I can't actually hit her!' But we loved the idea that it actually would come to blows and we kind of went with this idea, which is a smaller idea, a little less silly but really kind of ends in some strong emotions. And hopefully people believe us that we can move from here."

Season 3 of Orphan Black continues on BBC America Saturdays at 9pm.
