With San Andreas on its way to becoming a huge success at the box office, the Furious 7 action star is already in plans to work on his next project. Will Dwayne Johnson be cast as Jack Burton (played by Kurt Russell) in the remake of the John Carpenter film, Big Trouble in Little China?

As we previously mentioned, the Halloween director teamed up with BOOM! Studios to continue the kung-fu/supernatural action flick as an ongoing series, The first issue continued where the first film left off, with the macho, truck-driving adventurer finding a stowaway hiding on his rig, The Pork Chop Express. Burton helped his best friend save his fiancée from the clutches of a demon, but now their wedding has been invaded by more evil forces.

According to The Wrap,  the former WWE superstar is in negotiations to star in and produce a remake of the campy cult classic. The updated script will be written by X-Men: First Class scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, Johnson and his producing partners at Seven Bucks Productions, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, pitched the remake to 20th Century Fox, who own the rights of the the original film.

A representative for 20th Century Fox though has not responded to a request for comment.

As we mentioned before, the Scorpion King will playing the DC Comics super villain in the live-action version of Shazam. In the DC Universe, Black Adam was an ancient Egyptian prince named Teth-Adam ("Mighty Human"), corrupted by his immense powers. In his reincarnated form as Theo Adam, after saying the magic word, "Shazam," he transforms himself into Black Adam.

Dwayne Johnson can currently be seen in the blockbuster disaster movie, San Andreas.
