'Grey's Anatomy' Patrick Dempsey Moving on From Firing, Divorce with New TV Project?

Patrick Dempsey might have had a rough last couple of months, but it looks like the former TV actor is in the process of landing a brand new series. While the star has experienced some hardships over the last couple of months including a divorce from wife Jillian Fink, putting his house on the market, and getting fired from Grey's Anatomy, he is reportedly in talks for a brand new role. However, could the behind-the-scenes drama from his former role, and his Shonda Rhimes drama, follow him to his next job?

According to Radar Online, his onscreen antics could possibly play a role in whether or not he gets a new gig.

One Hollywood insider explained that he doesn't take very kindly to hiring actors who have had trouble on set in the past.

"Any actor who provides more drama on set than he does on camera is a non-starter with me, and by non-starter, I mean up until the network says I have to hire him," they said.

However, according to Entertainment Weekly, Dempsey has been taking meetings with some big shots to prep a possible return to the small screen.

"It's very normal for an actor who has been on a show for a long time to take meetings, to get reacquainted with other studios and network execs," a studio exec told the site. "It's just what you do. You never know when that dream project is gonna fall in your lap."

When asked about whether or not Patrick could be coming to a show this fall, the exec, who revealed that they are excited to sit down with Dempsey, said that there is still time.

"I can definitely see him ending up on something in the fall," the source stated, adding, it's "not too late at all."
