The clock will be ticking again as Fox is planning a spinoff from their popular 24 franchise. Unfortunately, viewers will still be left wondering what happened to ex-CTU agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) after the action-packed season finale of 24: Live Another Day?

As we perviously mentioned, though he was a wanted fugitive, Jack (Sutherland) had to come out of hiding when he heard reports of an assassination attempt on President Heller (William Devane). In the closing minutes, Jack turned himself over to the Russians in order to save Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Held captive in a helicopter, Jack was being sent off somewhere in Russia in the tense open-ending.

According to TV Line, Fox is developing a 24 spinoff, which would revolve around a new twenty-something male terrorist hunter. Executive Producer Howard Gordon confirmed the project to the sit at the recent Critics Choice Television Awards. This new character will be teamed up with a more seasoned female agent.

The spinoff will follow the traditional 24 format, each episode represents an hour of a single day. Manny Coto and Evan Katz will serve as writers and executive producers. Fox will most likely launch the spinoff as a limited series, much like Live Another Day.

Unfortunately, there are no current plans for Bauer to appear. It could be possible that Bauer could pop in and out on a guest-starring turn. Not only is Jack's fate left in question, but where's Tony?

As we previously mentioned, Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) was last seen in a deleted scene from the Live Another Day extras. Tony managed to escape from his escape from his prison and went off somewhere. Will Tony Almeida be the big bad in the spinoff?

The 24 spinoff is currently in its planning stages.

Readers, what do you think of the 24 spinoff?
