Taylor Swift Donates $15,000 to Hero Firefighter's GoFundMe Campaign

When volunteer firefighter Aaron Van Riper responded to a 911 call earlier this week, he had no idea that a terrible car crash would turn into a personal tragedy. Arriving on the scene, he discovered that his wife and son were injured in the crash, which led him and family friends to start a GoFundMe campaign to help with their hospital bills after he saved his family from the wreckage. The Riper family saw one large donation of $15,000 pop up on the webpage, which was pretty surprising, but they found out that pop songstress Taylor Swift was the charitable donator! "It's my family. My wife was laying there on the ground. (By) the look of the car, I don't know how either one of them lived. There was nothing left of that car," Viper told the local media covering this story (via).

This clearly harrowing story does have a bright side, though. It looks like both his wife, Amber and their son, Jonathan "Bear," are going to recover. Friends of the family set up a GoFundMe page to help out with hospital bills and physical therapy, but nobody expected a large donation from Swift!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Swift didn't draw too much attention to her donation, but one family member did spot the large sum and shared it with Aaron. Check out this screenshot via Facebook right here:

We know that anybody could've put in her name, but that amount of money definitely has us believing it actually came from her. Plus, Billboard has confirmed that the real Taylor Swift did donate the $15,000.
