Spider-Man Reboot New Actor Casting News, Asa Butterfield Out: Tom Holland, Charlie Plummer or Matthew Lintz in?

We still don't know who will play Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's movie Captain America: Civil War quite yet, but we do know that a former alleged top choice for the Sony and Marvel character is out of the running. This week, we take Asa Butterfield off of the short list of actors who could portray Peter Parker in a rebooted franchise, but we're still holding on to three other names: Tom Holland, Charlie Plummer and Matthew Lintz. According to a number of reports, Butterfield has been taken off of the short list of actors after sitting at the top of the speculation for a number of weeks now (via Slash Film).

This new short list of familiar names came from Meet the Movie Press, where Wrap reporter Jeff Sneider announced that Sony is favoring Holland as the next Parker, whereas Marvel wants Plummer. Both sides are still interested in Lintz, though (via IGN).
