While it has literally felt like years since we have been treated to some new music from the reigning queen of country, Miss Carrie Underwood, it seems that the former American Idol winner is about to give us what we have been going to bed praying for each night. She might be blowing up the charts with her two latest singles "Something in the Water" and "Little Toy Guns," but it has actually been three years since her last studio album, not including her greatest hits, which was released in December. However, fans were treated to a little tease today as they scrolled through their Instagram accounts. Buried between all those cat pictures and food images, was a picture of Underwood working on some new tunes.

The starlet posted a selfie to her Instagram page, where she is wearing headphones, and smiling into the camera. The caption reads, "Is that new music I hear???"

Carrie also posted a picture of a studio soundboard three weeks ago, giving fans the first clue that she was back in the recording mood.

"Had an amazing day in the studio! I still am in awe that I get to sing and call it my job! I think you all are going to like the new stuff," the star wrote.

It might seem like a quick turnaround after just giving birth to a baby at the end of February, but Underwood told Billboard that her pregnancy gave her time to think out and plan for her next album.

"I had a lot more time to write. With the pregnancy, I couldn't be out on tour like I normally would be, so I definitely filled my time working in another ways," Carrie told the site. "It's been interesting, because there's some songs that I feel like we've been listening to over a year. You know you still love them even though you've heard them that much, and you're on the right track. I feel like that's where we are right now. We're in a good place."

We are just hope that this means we will be hearing the new music very soon.
