Daniel Bryan's rise to fame in the WWE was a special sight to see. The man who started his career by wrestling in front of gymnasiums of 12 people eventually rose to fame as one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time through his infectious Yes Movement. His legitimacy as one of the best we have ever seen was solidified at Wrestlemania 30 when he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a match against Randy Orton and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista. Sadly, Bryan's career has been derailed by injuries and it looks like this very special champion of the people may be forced to retire. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Bryan may be forced out of action for good by what he describes as a "career-threatening concussion."

Bryan got the concussion during a match against Sheamus at a Smackdown taping. Meltzer says the only reason that the WWE has kept his concussion so quiet is because of several concussion suits the WWE is facing from several former wrestlers. He says the WWE doesn't want to look bad.

Bryan is currently out of action but right now he is serving as a judge for Tough Enough. There is no timeline for his return so these Meltzer reports may have some truth to them.

Recently, Bret Hart chimed in on Bryan's concussion. He says what Bryan is going through is similar to what he went through in WCW.

"Daniel Bryan is finished. He'll never wrestle again. I don't think he knows it yet. I feel terrible about Daniel Bryan. For all intents and purposes, he had the exact same thing happen to him that happened to me after Bill Goldberg kicked me in the head. One day, you learn it's over. Doctors tell you that you can't wrestle and you'll never wrestle again. I lost millions of dollars because of that. I pray that it's not the same for Daniel Bryan."
