While it's being ordered around the southern end of the United States for denizens to take down their Confederate Flags, it looks as if the same rules don't apply for Confederate Flag underwear. And, honestly, we're not so sure we want it to apply here. Regardless, it's being reported that a Charleston officer was fired for posting a photograph to Facebook of him wearing Confederate Flag underwear.

HuffPost Live recently reported that after Sgt. Shannon Dildine posted the Facebook photo, his boss, Police Chief Eddie Driggers, apparently caught wind of it – the photo, nothing else – and exclaimed that his posting was wrong, and therefore, Dildine was sent a termination letter.

"Your posting in this manner led you to being publicly identified as a North Charleston Police office and associated both you and the Department with an image that symbolizes hate and oppression to a significant portion of the citizens we are sworn to serve."

Take a look at the report from HuffPost Live below:

Furthermore, ABC News reports that while Driggers admits in the ltter that "some say the flag emblem may have different meanings to different people," he further claims that the officer's personal choice is "irrelevant to the City's decision to terminate" Dildine's employment.
