Fox's 'Wayward Pines' Episode 7 Spoilers: Will Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino Find "Betrayal?"

The mystery/suspense drama,Wayward Pines, from The Sixth Sense director, M. Night Shyamalan continues on Fox. In tonight's Episode 7, will agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) discover his "Betrayal" comes from the closest person Kate Hewson (Carla Gugino) actually knows?

As we previously mentioned, Secret Service agent Ethan Burke (Dillon) was in the middle of an investigation when his car was suddenly hit by a truck. Outside of Wayward Pines, Ethan's wife Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon) is wondering why her husband has gone missing. Waking up, Ethan finds himself trapped in a strange town where anyone could either be an ally or enemy.

We also mentioned, the fifth episode revealed Ethan and his family are actually living with the last remainders of humanity in the year, 4028. Somehow they have all ended up 2,000 years into the apocalyptic future. The fence is meant to protectWayward Pines from Aberrations, the Abbies, who happen to be the mutated, violent descendants of the human race.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Ethan has only one life-saving question on his mind. Who is responsible for planting a bomb under his car? As Ethan hunts down the truth, the confrontation leads to Kate's "husband," Harold (Reed Diamond). But in order to get the answers, will Ethan have to do something he will regret?

In an interview with TV Line, showrunner Chad Hodge teases, "Someone who you might not be thinking about makes a brief reappearance, and it has to do with what's going on outside the fence separate from the Abbies."

With the episodes coming down to a close, Hodge adds if the mystery behind the time-traveling tech will be revealed, "I wouldn't say it's the show's next big mystery, but it's one of them. And it's a key to the final chapter of Wayward Pines."
