With just a few weeks left in Jon Stewart's run on The Daily Show, it looks like he cannot wait to get out of the job—largely because the 2016 Presidential Election is already driving him mad. With 18 candidates in the running, it looks like they're doing whatever they can to stick out. Like when Senator Ted Cruz decided to do a number of impressions from The Simpsons. Yes, he actually did it. And per Jon Stewart himself, it was the "weirdest f*cking thing" he's ever seen.

Stewart began last night's segment of Democalypse 2016 by noting that with so many candidates running on the GOP side, many of them are trying some seriously outside-the-box tactics to get noticed. Specifically, of course, Ted Cruz.

"Hi, I'm Ted. With Harry Shearer retiring I'm auditioning for any part I can get in The Simpsons," Cruz said in some strange video you can see below. And, well, while he was going for funny, it came off as just weird.

"That's the weirdest f*cking thing I've ever seen," said Stewart. He further commented, however, that he must give Cruz credit, despite the oddness of the video.

"Normally you have to wait until you're actually President to do that much damage to something American holds so dear."

Take a look at the video from The Daily Show below:

After hitting Cruz, Stewart moved on to the main event: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Christie came in as the 18th Republican candidate to put his name on the bill just a couple of days ago, and Stewart could not get enough of it.

Actually, he kind of has had enough of it.

The final episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart airs this coming Aug. 6. Get your tissues ready, folks.
