Readers, are you looking to get into meditation? Well, you should probably know that it's a hard thing to do. Honestly, freeing your mind really isn't the easiest task––especially when our smartphones are right at our sides (Has anyone texted me?!). But fear not, we've found a few tips that will help all those beginners out there looking to get into the peaceful soul-searching practice of meditation.

Per a report from The Huffington Post, meditation, like anything else in life, takes practice. Going into it expecting to be a professional out of the gate is, well, not going to happen. You'll need to strengthen your mind. And when you do, you'll realize what all the talk has been about.

5. DON'T TRY
...kind of. Try a little bit, but not too hard. From the report, meditation is supposed to be relaxing and rather effortless. When they say "notice your breath," don't try to notice it. Just... notice it's there.

Does that make sense?

4. DON'T GO INTO IT STRESSED
You want to be relaxed when you meditate, folks. It's important not to go into the practice stressed because it simply will not work. So get yourself relaxed however you normally do – ditch those jeans and workpants, slip into some comfy clothes, take some deep breaths, stretch, and get relaxing!

3. REALIZE THAT YOUR MIND WILL WANDER
You won't always be in the moment. The sooner you realize that your mind is going to wander, the easier you'll be able to get meditation. Once your mind does venture off, which it will, realize it. Realize that your mind is wandering, and slowly bring it back to a concentrated state.

2. STRETCH BEFOREHAND
This kind of goes hand-in-hand with "Don't Go Into It Stressed." Part of de-stressing yourself can be through stretching. Stretching is a wonderful exercise to prepare your body. So, whether it be the simple roll of the neck or a mere shoulder stretch, try and do this before your meditate.

1. TIME YOURSELF
You probably won't get it the first time you do it... and that's okay! So set a timer for yourself. Whether it be 5, 10 or 15 minutes, give yourself an allotted amount of minutes to meditate. Do your time and move on with your day. Then, give it another go tomorrow.

Oh, and for the record, ditch your cellphone for 15 minutes––please!
