A new poster was recently released for the new film starring Owen Wilson in the yet-to-be-released political thriller, No Escape. The film follows Jack Dwyer (Wilson), who has recently accepted a job in Southeast Asia. He uproots his family only to have sent them into immediate danger. Not long after the Dwyers arrive to their new home finding the phones and other household essentials not working, there seems to have begun a grand execution of all foreigners. The family scrambles to find a safe way out of the country and out of harm's way due to this political uprising.

The film is an interesting choice for Wilson who is known more for his Blockbuster comedic roles such as Wedding Crashers (2005), Zoolander (2001) and Meet the Parents (2000). This is quite the game-changer for Wilson and it will be interesting to see him take on such a serious role since he appeared in Armageddon (1999) in a supporting role on the space exploring, meteor-drilling team. Wilson appears alongside Pierce Brosnan who is more recognizable in an action-themed film, but it will be interesting to see how two play off of one another in addition to their supporting cast of Lake Bell, Sterling Jerins and Claire Geare.

Produced by The Weinstein Company and directed by John Erick Dowdle who is most known for films like Quarantine (2008) and Devil (2010) the film could explode and already seems to have been gathering some hype ever since the first trailer arrived in March of 2015, previewing before other popular thrillers and horror films. FirstShowing.net also recognized the fact that this could open up a more action, thriller genre market for Wilson as an actor and that audiences everywhere should expect to possibly see him in other films similar in content to this one in the future.

Take a look at the movie trailer and No Escape will be showing in theaters starting September 2nd.
