The highly-anticipated BCS National Championship match-up between NCAA powerhouses Notre Dame (no 1) and the University of Alabama (no 2) takes place on Monday, January 7 at 8:30 p.m. E.T. at Miami's Sun Life Stadium. Will the Fighting Irish complete Notre Dame's first perfect season since 1988, or will the Crimson Tide snag its third national championship in four years? Monday evening's game will surely prove to be a fierce battle on the turf - read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the college football game online and catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.
Both teams have performed stellar defensively throughout the regular season - yards and points will be hard to come by out on the turf in Miami. Sports analysts predict a very close game, and professionals are split as to which team will prove victorious in the end. While Notre Dame remains the top undefeated team, leading Las Vegas casinos project an Alabama win with a point spread of 9.5-10 (as of Jan. 3). Approximately two billion dollars is expected to be wagered on the highly-anticipated NCAAF championship game.
Both the Fighting Irish (12-0) and the Crimson Tide (12-1) have fought hard and earned their right to play in the prestigious college championship - combined, both teams have snagged a total of 25 national championship titles thus far. According to Notre Dame coach (and AP/Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year) Brian Kelly, "The tradition of Alabama and Notre Dame brings special attention to it, but we're just trying to be the best team on Monday, Jan. 7... All of that tradition, what's happened in the past, is not going to help us Jan. 7, but we do respect the traditions."
