Robery Downey Jr. makes a ton of money for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which translates to his own fortunes, as you can imagine. He's made the Forbes top paid celebrities lists for year now, but in 2015, he's making much more than he ever has! Thanks to the success of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Downey signing on for Captain America: Civil War, the actor's net worth has skyrocketed in 2015, landing him at the $80 million mark this year! What's truly crazy about this news is that Downey isn't even at the top spot like he was last year. He's listed at number eight in 2015, but we could be singing a different tune after Civil War is released. The actor usually gets some backend money after box office numbers come in, so we can add some zeros to the $80 million in 2016.

Comic Book Movie speculates that Downey was paid around $40 million for each 2015 movie deal, which almost didn't happen if one Marvel executive had his way. According to Variety (via Gamma Squad), Robert Downey Jr. makes so much money off of Marvel that executive Isaac Perlmutter reportedly suggested his character be written out of Civil War in order to save the company money. This did not happen and we're expecting a huge 2016 blockbuster from this sequel.

So which celebrities fill out the other seven spots on Forbes' list? James Patterson, Garth Brooks, Howard Stern, One Direction, Katy Perry, Manny Paquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., in that order, topped the Iron Man star, according to Forbes.
