Just ahead of the festivities at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi has officially announced that he wants his costar, Jenna Coleman to stay on the series with him after the upcoming season 9 episodes. We'll find out plenty of details about the new episodes, but we haven't heard much about Coleman's plans for afterwards. Considering the rumors of her quitting last year, we're getting worried again heading into the new season. It looks like Capaldi is worried, too! Read more on this news below.

Speaking with The Sun Newspaper recently, according to The Mirror, Capaldi is ready to beg Coleman to stay after the next season.

''Jenna continues to deliver a complex and funny performance that marks her out as one of the best companions ever," the actor said. ''Will these be her last shows? I hope not.''

It sounds like Jenna's character, Clara Oswald will turn out safe in season 9, but if she chooses to leave, will we see her death afterwards?

While you speculate about that possibility, Capaldi also opened up about the new episodes premiering later this year.

''Clara and the Doctor have realized they are the luckiest people in all of time and space. He is throwing himself into life with a new-found hunger for adventure. He is grabbing every thrill he can," Capaldi said, according to Metro. ''But I sense him running from something that even he does not yet understand.''

He added: ''There is an epic sweep to this season and I think the villains and monsters reflect that. Great new ones, brilliant old ones, and some very scary creatures looming in stories with real emotional ambition.''
