It's being reported that a 21-year-old woman was raped in the parking lot of Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City. She was attacked by a man in an American flag shirt early Friday morning around 1 a.m. The NYPD are currently searching for the suspect, and even have video of him on the elevator just after the attack.

He can be seen checking his fingers and knuckles.

CBS New York notes that over 200,000 commuters travel in and out of Port Authority every single day and the parking lots are typically desolate, especially at night.

One woman interviewed by CBS explains, "There is no security. Anybody could just come in any time of the day."

She further stated that she doesn't park at the bus terminal "in the evening at all. I just do day trips."

Now, while there is a security camera outside of the elevators in Port Authority, there are no surveillance cameras in the garage itself. Travelers who have been inside the parking garage know that the levels can often be empty and eerily quiet, especially during the evening hours.
