The Texans ended the 2012 regular season at the no 9 spot in ESPN's power rankings with 12 wins and four losses... Houston clinched the AFC South Division. The Patriots snagged the overall no 4 spot with 12 wins and four losses, clinching the AFC East Division.

The Texans defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in last weekend's wild card playoffs weekend 19-13, allowing them to advance to the divisional round.
