During the recent 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, IDW Publishing has announced the Back to the Future comic book series. Young time-traveler Marty McFly (payed by Michael J. Fox) jumps right back in the Delorean, speeding his way through the past, present, and future in an untold adventure.

As we perviously mentioned, in the plot synopsis, Back to the Future, teenager Marty McFly (Fox) finds himself in the '50s, thanks to scientist Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd)'s time machine. Marty meets younger versions of his parents (Crispin Glover, Lea Thompson), who turn out to be nerds. After disrupting events of the timeline, Marty has to make sure that they fall in love ,or he will never exist.

According to IDW's official website, writers John Barber (Transformers) and Erik Burnham (Ghostbusters), will work together on breaking down the issue into two separate stories. Each tale will build upon the iconic characters, Doc and Marty, and the time periods from the films.

The artistic team will also be split between Brent Schoonover (Batman '66) and Burnham's long-time collaborator on the Ghostbusters series, Dan Schoening. Each following issue will feature rotating artistic teams, who will add more fun stories to this rich universe.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Back to the Future co-screenwriter Bob Gale dishes on what to expect from the first installment, "In the first issue, our lead story will recount how Marty and Doc first met in 1982. The second story shows how Doc got involved with the Manhattan Project during World War II. John came up with a clever framing device which we'll use throughout the series which involves Doc's family from the end of "Part III," and the first story features someone you may not have expected to see.

Gale contiues, "As we progress, we'll try to use characters from the movies or their relatives whenever it makes sense, as well as include 'easter egg' trilogy references. In #2, we'll pose an answer to the question of how Doc's house burned down."

The four-part Back to the Future mini-series begins in October.
