'Boardwalk Empire' Season 5: Steve Buscemi, Kelly Macdonald Drama Gets 2015 Emmy Nominations!

The final season 5 of Boardwalk Empire continues to earn critical priase for HBO. The countdown to the series finale led to politician/mob boss Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), his ex-wife Margaret Schroeder (Kelly MacDonald) being nominated for the 2015 Emmy Awards.

During the fifth season, the turf war between Nucky (Buscemi) and Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazaa) has been escalating to an intense confrontation. In Chicago, the FBI is working nonstop to arrest Al Capone (Stephen Graham) for tax evasion. and double crosses were made. Racing against the clock, Nucky intends to escape from his criminal lifestyle before Lucky's goons come crashing through his door

In our finale recap, after losing the gang war to Luciano, Nucky meets his fate by a surprise visit from Tommy Darmody, the grandson of Gillian (Gretchen Mol) and the only child by Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt). Though he has survived many shootouts, this is the one Nucky couldn't escape from, nor talk his way out of. Shot at point blank range, Nucky dropped to the floor and died on the boardwalk he helped create.

According to Deadline, Tim Van Patten has earned the nomination of Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series, for the series finale episode, Eldorado. In slow motion, we watched Nucky Thompson meet the Grim Reaper as he learned the hard and cold truth; crime never pays.

The episodes, Golden Days For Boys And Girls, Friendless Child, and Eldorado, are nominated for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Period Program (One Hour Or More).

Golden Days For Boys And Girls also earned its nods for Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series and Outstanding Costumes For A Period/Fantasy Series, Limited Series Or Movie.

Key Hairstylists Lisa De Jesus and Sarah Stamp were nominated for their work in Eldorado Outstanding Hairstyling For A Single-Camera Series

What Jesus Said is also being considered for Outstanding Main Title Design.

For their work in The Good Listener, Michele Paris, Department Head Makeup Artist, and Joe Farulla, Key Makeup Artist, earned their nod for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For A Series, Limited Series, Movie Or A Special.
