If you're like most humans, then you often find yourself in a rut when it comes to finding happiness in life. Whether it be because you're not happy with your career at the moment, a failing relationship, or even something bigger (like you don't have enough storage on your iPhone to download the latest Panda Pop video game), most of us go through times where negative thinking appears to seep into our heads and take over like a nasty disease. This way of going about life leads to not only cynicism, but also pessimism and a lack-o-positivity. Which basically means you'll be a bummer to be around.

But fear not, folks. There are indeed ways to get yourself out of that rut life sometimes throws at you. Yes, we're talking about methods you can use to expunge that negative thinking and bring positivity into your life. It's hard but you can do it.

If you try, that is.

Let's take a look at some tips for breaking those negative thoughts:

REALIZE YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THINGS
If there's one thing that we tend to lose sight of in life, it's the fact that we have the control. Yes, our career dictates certain aspects of our lives but at the very core, we have the ability to change things. Don't like your job? You can change it! Don't like the way your life is? You can change that, too! Forgetting that we have the ability to make serious changes in our lives (after thinking everything out, of course) is something that most of us tend to do. But once you remember that you are in the driver's seat, you'll notice those negative thoughts wash away (in time).

KNOW THAT LIFE IS NOT PERFECT
With any decision in life there are consequences. Life isn't perfect—and that's good! The important thing is to inform yourself of these consequences before making a move.

Realize that life is not perfect, and what may appear to be a perfect life for others is usually anything but. Ever see that e-card that reads: "May your life someday be as awesome as you pretend it is on Facebook"? Well, exactly...

REALIZE YOUR WORTH
Each of us are individuals, and we deserve happiness. Oftentimes we let negative thoughts get the better of us and make us believe we are not worth it or we don't deserve something. Well, guess what – that's wrong! We all mean something; no matter how many friends we have, no matter how much family we have, no matter our job, no matter our bank account, we are people first. Learn your value and you will soon find that you deserve everything you want.
