Radcliffe has been keen on distancing himself from the Harry Potter franchise by taking on a number of low-budget projects that have all garnered critical acclaim. This list below will help you learn a bit more about the former child star that got away from the curse that most young actors face after fame hits.

In The Woman in Black, Daniel tackled both the horror genre and period pieces. This haunted house film got plenty of attention, mainly from its leading man, but delivered in story and performance as well. Radcliffe portrays a young lawyer that recently lost his wife who travels to a remote village during the Edwardian-era. The movie introduced a number of fans to gothic horror and really set a tone for the direction Radcliffe wanted to go in the industry: away from Potter.

Radcliffe went further away from his fantasy series when taking on the role of poet Allen Ginsberg in the drama Kill Your Darlings. This marked Daniel's foray into the biopic genre, which was bolstered by his prowess as a young actor taking on one of the most respected minds in history. Elements of homosexuality and depression also showed us how Daniel was becoming a very serious actor.

Radcliffe released two films pretty close together with What If and Horns, which were movies that couldn't have been more different. The former is a romantic indie comedy that went for the heart and the mind while the latter is a demonic horror comedy that touches on issues of rape, murder and betrayal.

Radcliffe is currently working on a number of new projects, but his cameo in the 2015 comedy Trainwreck garnered a ton of attention way before the film even hit theaters. The actor plays a dog walker in the movie, set photos of which went viral due to the absurdity around the character. Radcliffe is swarmed with dogs, the leashes of which are attached to the actor's waist! Check out these photos right here!
