Johnny Depp, Donning His 'Captain Jack' Attire, Feeds Baby Bat!

Johnny Depp, an avid activist against animal cruelty, has been keeping himself up to date with the Australian Bat Clinic and Wildlife Trauma Center by sponsoring and helping provide care for a premature baby bat. In fact, the dedication that Depp has to this bat is quite admirable. After a long day of work on set of the next Pirates of the Caribbean film, Depp stopped by, still in full Captain Jack Sparrow costume, to nurse the little baby critter. The baby bat was then rightfully named "Jackie Sparrow." Depp also had a pirate themed pacifier made for the little guy as well.

Although Depp is dedicated to the cause of keeping animals safe, he did get in trouble back in May with the Australian law because he brought his two Yorkshire Terriers traveling with him to Australia so that they could be on-set while he was working on the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. The animals are even at risk of being put to sleep because Depp and his wife, Amber Heard, failed to declare them with the Department of Agriculture. The country has a strict policy, "that all dogs entering the country must be quarantined in order to keep out canine diseases," reports WRRV. They ordered the couple to either remove their dogs from the country within 72 hours or Boo and Pistol would "face death." Even Change.org put together a petition to allow the two pooches to stay in Australia with Mom and Dad.

Although there is a lot of controversy over who is in the wrong in this situation, Depp is still against animal cruelty and advocates for animal rights. He even said earlier this year in regards to so many complaints over seeing horrible images of tortured animals, "If you don't like seeing pictures of violence towards animals being posted, you need to help stop the violence, not the pictures."
