'The X-Files' Revival PHOTOS: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Robbie Amell Meets Scully!

Back by popular demand, the iconic sci-fi/horror series has released images of their new best cast member from Fox. In the revival of The X-Files, check out photos of Robbie Amell (Firestorm of The Flash) as he joins the crusade with Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson)?

As we previously mentioned, 13 years have passed since FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully were on the TV screen solving weird and supernatural cases. The reboot of Fox's popular sci-fi series continues with 6 brand new episodes. Not only are the leads set to reprise their iconic roles, creator Chris Carter will takeover as showrunner for the franchise that launched his and many other careers.

As we mentioned before, The Tomorrow People actor will play smart and smooth Agent Miller. Joined by DIG actress, Lauren Ambrose will portray the equally sharp and confident Agent Einstein. No word yet on which one of the six episodes they will appear in. Because Ambrose is a red-head, could the show be spoofing themselves in a meta-episode?

On his official Instagram account, Amell shared a snapshot with Anderson and writes, "Do you believe? #TheXFiles"

On her official Twitter account, Anderson shared her own selfie and writes, "or THIS one, @RobbieAmell! It's Agent Miller time!"

Rounding out the cast, as reported by Deadline, Tom Braidwood (Melvin Frohike), Dean Haglund (Richard Langly), and Bruce Harwood (John Fitzgerald Byers) will return as The Lone Gunmen. Though their characters died on the show, the threesome were brought back in The X-Files: Season 10 comic book series, written by Joe Harris. Because Season 10 is considered canon, as Harris explained in our MStars interview, will the revival follow the comics?

The X-Files returns with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, January 24, 2016, following the NFC Championship Game. The event continues with its time period premiere on Monday, January 25, 2016 (8pm).
