The Season 2 of The Strain continues on FX. Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling novels, published by Dark Horse Comics, in Episode 2, are Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) ready to fight The Master with The Silver Angel?

As Eph, Nora and Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) follow a bloodsucker to its nest, they suddenly defend themselves under attack by a swarm. The plan is a success as they ends up a sleeping vampire's nest. Gus (Miguel Gomez) ends up a restaurant, first with the waitress and sees someone from his past (Joaquín Cosio).

Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) meets with  Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) as they talk about Reggie Fitzwilliam (Roger Cross). The two then make a journey to Staten Island, which is considered to be a vampire-free zone. In the flashback, Abraham and a young Eldritch Palmer think they have found a lead to the Occido Lumnen.

A cry for help distracts Abraham but allows Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel) to meet with Eldritch. Unfortunately, Eldritch is convinced the ancient book has been destroyed and his mission is over. In the present, Gus returns home to get his stuff and finds his infected mother.

Using his mother, The Master tells Gus that he has failed. Unable to kill his mother, Gus just locks her inside the room. As Nora and Fet are back at their hideout, Eph tries to bond with his son, Zach (Max Charles). With Councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis) in the news,  Nora thinks she is making things worse than the vampires.

Zach and Eph try to bond over baseball, but the event makes the boy remember his mother. While Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) convinces the shareholders that New York will return to business, Gabriel Bolivar (Jack Kesy) leads the vampire attack against Wall Street.

Reggie meet with Abraham and Dutch, but isn't too happy to see them. Abraham reminds Reggie that he already met his father and doesn't believe the evil has won. Though Reggie says he won't contact them, Abraham doesn't believe he has resigned.

Gus goes back to the restaurant and continues to flirt with he waitress. He then has scuffle over Angel (Joaquín Cosio). Gus recognizes Angel from his old-school wrestling movies. Angel pushes Gus away, telling him never to come back to the restaurant.

Eph and Nora fail to stop Fet from blowing up a subway station. Nora and Eph realize their disease is having an effect on the vampires. The Master is forcing the infected vamps to commit suicide to stop the spread of infection.

After blowing up the train station, Fet is captured by the military police. Eph checks up on his son as Kelly has her vampire children pick up Zach's scent.
