Reports confirm that popular country singer Chely Wright is expecting identical twins with wife Lauren Blitzer-Wright. The "Single White Female" crooner and her Sony music executive sweetheart made the happy pregnancy announcement during an interview with PR guru Howard Bragman on his YouTube show, Gwissues. The twins are expected to arrive sometime in July, and the newlywed couple is ecstatic.
During the YouTube chat, 42-year-old Wright and 31-year-old Blitzer-Wright excitedly exclaimed, "We're excited to be parents and we hope we don't mess it up too badly!" The country star went on to explain, "We feel like God blessed us with twins. We feel our entire relationship has been blessed. We feel lucky and ready to take on the challenges."
In May 2010, Wright became the first major country music performer to publicly come out as gay. On April 6, 2011, Wright's publicist announced that the singer was engaged to LGBT rights advocate Lauren Blitzer. The couple was married by both a rabbi and a reverend in a private Connecticut wedding ceremony on August 20, 2011.
Wright expects to give birth to the identical twins in July but as the "Shut Up and Drive" songstress points out, "with identical twins they typically have to be delivered a month early."
Congrats to the happy couple on the big news!
