The August 5, 2015 episode of WWE's NXT will feature two much-anticipated matchups and will continue to push toward NXT Takeover: Brooklyn on Saturday, August 22.

Samoa Joe and Rhyno have both been making impacts in NXT since their respective debuts several months ago, and now the two men will square off in a one-on-one match tonight. Both men are approaching this match as a stepping stone toward their ultimate goal of the NXT Championship. Which of these beasts will secure victory and put themselves in position to get a shot at Finn Balor, or possibly even Kevin Owens, for the belt?

Elsewhere, the women of NXT have been revolutionizing the main roster, with one notable exception: Bayley. The Hugster was not part of the major call up that brough Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks to Raw and SmackDown. She was injured during the beginning of the Divas Revolution, but it's possible she would not have gotten the call anyway.

Now, Bayley has made clear that she wants the NXT Women's Championship. But before that, she's decided to take the Sami Zayn route and wants to prove herself by defeating a rival she has yet to beat: Charlotte. And she gets her chance tonight when she faces Ric Flair's daughter in a one-on-one bout. If she wins, then she puts herself one step closer to Sasha Banks and the title.

And let's not forget that Eva Marie is still lurking with her own aspirations to become Women's Champion. She has divided the fans, but it's clear she put in the work and is trying to improve herself. Will she take another step toward her goal tonight?

The Vaudevillains lost their NXT Tag Team Championship match last week to Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy after some interference from Alexa Bliss. It seems like The Vaudevillains are now full-fledged babyfaces, but will they get another shot at the champions?

Tyler Breeze continues to push General Manager William Regal for a high-profile match at Takeover: Brooklyn, and the GM has said he scoured the earth to find the right opponent. SPOILER ALERT: It's Jushin "Thunder" Liger. But Breeze, in storyline, doesn't know what, so will he continue to pester Regal tonight?

As always, check back with MStars immediately after the show for a full recap of all the action. But for now, let us know your thoughts, opinions, guesses, and predictions for tonight's show in the comments section.

In case you missed it, here are the results of last week's episode.

The episode begins with a match between Enzo Amore and Big Cass and Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. Dawson and Wilder pick up the win after a referee distraction that allows them to toss Big Cass into the ring steps. They hit their finisher on Enzo for the victory.

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan cut a promo backstage in which they run down the rest of the tag team division.

Baron Corbin squashes Jesse Sorenson with the End of Days.

Tyler Breeze bursts into William Regal's office and demands to know what the General Manager has for him at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Regal says he searched "to the ends of the earth" for his opponent but he does not name him.

Jordan and Gable defeat Elias Samson and Valenzuela Jr. with their tag team finisher.

We see a video package in which Bull Dempsey overeats and then comically fails at working out in the gym.

Charlotte defeats Dana Brooke with Natural Selection despite interference from Emma.

Samoa Joe cuts a promo and says he is here to win the NXT Championship. He says Rhyno has been a monster in the past but promises to put an end to him next week.

We see a clip from last week in which Kevin Owens apologizes to William Regal for hitting him during the contract signing with Finn Balor. Regal says he can't wait to see Owens truly get beat at Takeover: Brooklyn.

Kevin Owens demolishes Martin Stone with the Pop-Up Powerbomb. He delivers an Apron Powerbomb after the bell and mimics Finn Balor's pose on the turnbuckle.

We see a video package for Rhyno.

Blake and Murphy retain the NXT Tag Team Championship after Alexa Bliss interferes. The Vaudevillains hit the Whirling Dervish after the bell and surround Alexa, but they do their chivalry thing and hold the ropes for her to leave. She instead insults and slaps them before she walks out. The champions pose on the stage as the show goes off the air.
