Fox has released a new poster and promo for their Batman prequel series, Gotham. Before Season 2 of Gotham gets underway, will Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), and Erin Richards (Barbara kean) have to stop "The Rise of the Villains?"

In our finale recap, after a botched hit, Gordon (McKenzie) came to the rescue of Carmine Falcone just when Penguin was about to slit his throat. Trouble mounted for the detective as Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) returned with a vengeance and shot Sal Maroni (David Zayas) in the head. Elsewhere, Barbara (Erin Richards) confessed to Leslie (Morena Baccarin) that she murdered her parents and almost tried to kill her.

In the closing minutes, Falcone gave up his life of crime after Jim helped him reach a safe house. The Penguin (Taylor) took his revenge on Fish, grabbed her, and threw her off the roof; officially making him the number one mob boss. Bruce (Mazouz) discovered his father was actually hiding the Batcave.

As TV Line reports, the poster highlights the baddies who will take part of the sophomore season. Though The Penguin (Taylor) rules as king,he will face competition from Tigress (Jessica Lucas) and Theo Galavan (James Frain).

According to Comic Book, Fox has released a violent and gory international television spot for the upcoming sophomore season. For the murder of her parents and becoming brainwashed by The Ogre, Barbara (Richards) will be spending her days in Arkham Asylum after all. In the footage, we do see Barbara and the mysterious Jerome (Cameron Monaghan), who may or may not be the clown prince of crime, The Joker.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Richards teases Barbara's new role in Arkham Asylum, "She's so free and in touch with her real stuff now. Her skill is she knows everyone's weakness. So when she meets someone, she's just like, "Oh, yeah. I got you. I got you." Then she can use that weakness, but she might not let that character know she knows that weakness. She will just play along with each individual person until she gets what she wants. She's going to be really powerful, which is exciting."

Gotham returns for Season 2 on Fox on Sept. 21 at 8pm.
