A new horror movie is about to hit theaters this Sept. 11. Amidst various thrillers like No Escape, The Gift, Insidious: Chapter 3 and Sinister 2, Goodnight Mommy is a foreign horror film that is especially creepy. Entertainment Weekly reports, "RADiUS-TWC, the same distributor that released the acclaimed horror film It Follows earlier this year, has another frightening treat in store...Goodnight Mommy is an Austrian thriller directed by Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz with a premise to die for: A famous television actress (Susanne Wuest) returns home after a stay in the hospital for cosmetic facial surgery – and her twin 9-year-old sons (Elias Schwarz and Lukas Schwarz) believe that she is an imposter. And they plan on doing something about it."

The trailer is chilling and it does have something to add to the psychological horror genre because we're not really sure what the reality is. Is the woman their mother? Is she an imposter? Are the boys crazy or is there something slightly more sinister at hand here? There is a combination of horror elements that fans will love...if they can get past that the film will be subtitled. The Inquisitr says, "The film does have one thing going against it as far as American audiences are concerned. There are not many subtitled films that play well in the U.S. Most are usually doomed for the dreaded U.S. remake pile before they gain any traction. The simple concept, small cast, and suspense-driven plot, however, could make that a non-issue as it doesn't look like a dialogue-heavy film from the two minutes above." When the film hits theaters hopefully horror movie fans won't care what language it's in. Check out the trailer below and see if you can sleep tonight!
