Many moviegoers will be happy to hear that the famous pair is at it again! Director Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio are collaborating in their first film since the Wolf of Wall Street in 2013, with Devil in the White City. Apparently, many studios wanted to head this film. Deadline reports, "There was a big auction that had five studios chasing, and three bidding aggressively, (Universal and Fox were the others) before Paramount captured a package. Billy Ray will write the script. Appian Way's DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson are producing with Stacey Sher, Scorsese and Emma Tillinger Koskoff.

Scorsese and DiCaprio's projects vary and this one will be no different. This time it will be a true story involving "two men who turned the 1893 Chicago World's Fair into their playground. One of them, Daniel H. Burnham, the architect responsible for the fair's construction," Yahoo! News says. The other character, in perfect contrast, "The other, H.H. Holmes, was a serial killer masquerading as a charming doctor who is believed to be responsible for scores of murders around the time of the fair," Yahoo! News reports. With Burnham being involved in the process of the building of the fair, Holmes was known for his World's Fair Hotel. Already knowing the premise is half the excitement. A story that juxtaposes the fairytale-like quality of what the World's Fair stood for and Holme's very real murder spree in the same atmosphere seems like a treat to pull off. It feels right that Scorsese would take hold of this one!

This isn't the first time the film has been proposed. "The Devil in the White City has been in development for a long time. Tom Cruise first acquired the rights to the book in 2003, at which time DiCaprio said he was developing his own version of Holmes' case," Entertainment Weekly says. This film is in the very early stages of development, but more news should come our way soon!
