It has been a year since the death of Robin Williams and his TV daughter, Sarah Michelle Gellar, paid tribute to the comedian/actor and how he touched her life and the lives of so many others on the sad anniversary. "The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress starred alongside Williams in TV sitcom The Crazy Ones, but the show was canceled after one season in May, 2014, three months before the funnyman committed suicide on 11 August (14), aged 63," Philly.com reports.

Gellar posted to Instagram, "a photo of the Boston park bench that Williams sat on in an iconic scene from Good Will Hunting, Gellar, who starred with the Oscar winner," People says. She also wrote a caption of a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded," Time reports. Huffington Post says that the bench in and of itself has become a "make-shift" memorial to Williams.

The death of Williams last year was a shock that devastated a lot of fans. So many people Tweeted, posted to Facebook and wrote articles chronicling their favorite films of Williams's. Williams had been battling depression for quite some time and those around him, including Gellar, really felt the loss of not only an amazing and talented performer, but a truly genuine and kind human being. We can't believe it's been a year since we lost him and he will continue to live in our hearts and in the work that he produced prior to his death.
