Before its the official October premiere date, CBS has made a new casting announcement  for the DC Comics superheroine Supergirl. After Episode 1, is Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) ready to take on the Superman baddies Livewire (Brit Morgan) and Hellgrammite (Justice Leak)?

As we previously mentioned, the CBS superhero drama will follow the comic book adventures of Kara Zor-El (Benoist). Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped before its destruction. While living on Earth, Kara has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at the tender age of 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was always meant to be.

According to Variety, the True Blood actress will play the DC Comics villain. The Graceland acres will guest star in an upcoming season one episode.

In the DC Universe, Leslie Willis was a Metropolis shock jock who regularly taunted Superman. During an outdoor concert hampered by inclement weather Leslie was suddenly electrocuted. The freak accident transformed her into the pale-skinned, blue-haired, electricity-manipulating Livewire. In the Superman/Batman animated crossover, Supergirl needed the help of Batgirl to take on Livewire (voiced by Lori Petty), Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.

On the TV show, Morgan's Leslie Willis is a confident, abrasive and funny shock-jock. Willis now works for CatCo Media, the conglomerate owned by Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). When an accident makes her as dangerous and shocking as her words, Supergirl (Benoist) has to get involved and stop her.

Announced on CBS, the Powers actor is slated to join the Supergirl cast this fall. The Alabama-native will star as Hellgrammite, an alien pursued by the show's heroine. Deviating from the mythology, entomologist Roderick Rose experimented on himself and unfortunately gave himself insect-like appearance.
