Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to kick off a larger DC movie universe and star, Henry Cavill, teased the plans for what's beyond the next film in his recent promotional work for The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Cavill and his co-star, Armie Hammer, spoke to Uproxx, which asked about the future of the DC films:

"From the Batman v. Superman trailer that came out at Comic-Con, it did seem like the plot was tied into the destruction Superman causes in Man of Steel.

There’s a big plan in place at WB for the whole DC franchise. So, all of this stuff ties in. They’re not thinking from movie to movie, they’re thinking from a big tent pole type thing and each story has its own story, which is attached to the major issue. Yeah, there’s a big plan".

The site then talked about a GIF that recently made the rounds, which shows Ben Affleck in the street watching a building get torn apart in Batman vs. Superman, side by side with Michael Shannon in Man of Steel actually causing the damage and the two match perfectly. Cavill and Hammer both remarked how cool that is with Cavill adding that "you'll see a lot of that" as we go forward.

"I was wondering about that in the trailer!" Hammer said. "I was like, that is a big building that just got chopped in half. And that’s from Man of Steel?"

"That’s when Zod loses his mind and can’t control his heat vision and blasts everything out," Cavill replied.

What still remains unclear, though, is what the larger threat in the DC Universe will be. On the Marvel side, we know it's Thanos, so could DC go with Darkseid? Or perhaps Brainiac? We may get an answer at the end of Batman vs. Superman, or we might have to wait until Justice League.
