Sophia Bush, star of Chicago P.D. and One Tree Hill alum, opens up about the death of ex-boyfriend Dan Fredinburg. Bush is so much more than a mere actress. She's an activist and has a great heart. In a recent interview with Health Magazine, she opened up about the loss of Fredinburg and her philosophy on life and going after your passions.

"Losing one of my best friends a few months ago shattered me. There were days I felt like my body had been turned inside out," she told the magazine. "I felt like my heart was on the outside of my body and everyone who came near me was stabbing me. And the crazy thing is that since Dan died, the lessons have come like Mack trucks. There is no next time. There is no excuse to wait a day to do what you want to do and to change the way that you want to change."

Fredinburg passed away while climbing Mount Everest back in April when the Nepal earthquake happened. E! News says that the pair dated from April 2013 to February 2014. However, they did remain close friends and shared in humanitarian efforts. Although losing Dan was painful, it has taught Bush to embrace life and live in the moment even more than she did before. "The crazy thing is that since Dan died, the lessons have come like Mack trucks," she said, according to People. "There is no next time. There is no excuse to wait a day to do what you want to do and to change the way that you want to change."

Bush is such an inspiration, accepting loss and sharing her positivity with so many fans on Instagram and Twitter. She also opened up about her mother's illness back when she was only 20. "My mom was really sick. I watched her go through chemo, and that cracked me. My mother, my everything, the strongest woman I know, was literally on her knees unable to stand, and that shattered me," she revealed in the new profile. Bush is so inspirational to her fans and she uses that fame to promote positivity and activism. She told Health Magazine, "I always wanted to save the world."

As she turns 33, Bush realizes that she has learned so much from when she was in her twenties. She had previously opened up about her early and very short-lived marriage to One Tree Hill costar Chad Michael Murray, but now it's even more than that. "I don't think I just trust every single person anymore. I'm really coming into myself. There's something about 33. You know, it's one of those sort of sacred years. Thirty was amazing, and 33 is really only getting better. I feel much more rooted. I've learned how to listen to my intuition...My heart still feels open and I'm still madly in love with the world, but I understand very quickly how to read a person's energy and how to better protect my own," she said, according to E! News.

Bush is a revelation to all and she is most certainly a wonderful role model.
